Lynn Marcotte

Lynn Marcotte (ret.) came to Gordon College in 1990. Besides her Nonfiction workshops, she frequently taught the Great Conversation, Tutoring One-to-One, and Modern Arabic Literature (in translation). In the spring of 2020, she was scheduled to teach an ekphrasis course (writing about artwork) in Orvieto, Italy. Because of the COVID pandemic, she taught her course online, using artworks in local museums as a source for writing nonfiction pieces.

In addition to her affiliation with Gordon’s English Department, she worked for years in the Academic Support Center as the Writing Center Coordinator.

She is currently working on a memoir about her experiences growing up in her Syrian-Lebanese family as well as a children’s novel partially set in the Middle East.
