Staged Readings

Each year a handful of Gordon playwrights (from the Playwriting and Intro to CW classes) present staged readings of their 10-minute plays, often as part of the Gordon Symposium. Some of these plays are given full productions, directed by members of the Department of Theatre.

In 2025 plays written by Abby Brubaker, Kim Beam, Jocelyn Hoffman, Gretchen Munter, Bianca Russo, and Danya Li were performed on the Jenks 237 stage. Previously, pieces written by Hannah McBride, Jennifer Etesse, Dellynne Strawbridge, Rebecca Tatro, Tori Cimino, Laurie Armandt were performed in the Jensen Theatre. Pieces written by Gordon playwrights Darcy Halstead, Grace Shaw, Sarah Berube, Josie Walker, Steven Kennedy, Ling Austin, and Nate Dimauro were directed and produced in a Directors’ Showcase, and Heather Lobe and Jasmine Myers wrote pieces for performance in chapel.
