Our creative writers participate in writing festivals in New England and around the country.
Twenty of our writers have attended the Festival of Faith and Writing at Calvin College. They received grants and other sponsorship from Gordon to help defer the cost of this trip.
Our writers attended two Making Literature Conferences at Taylor University, and were invited to read their work as part of the program. Two of them won the creative writing award (Jessie Sorrells and Jenelle Siegal).
Some spring semesters, the English and Languages and Linguistics department sponsors our Literatures and Linguistics Undergraduate Colloquium at Gordon College.
Our students attend the annual Massachusetts Poetry Festival, where they have participated as volunteers and in the college poetry slam.
For several years, creative writers in our English honors society have attended the annual Sigma Tau Delta Festival, most recently in Louisville and Cincinnati.
They have also made presentations at the Salem Lit Fest, and the Salem Arts Festival.
